Windsor001 in terms of the AA exMIA destinations heading south the ones that would be recommended would be SJU, STX, and STT since they are US territory so when you fly back to MIA you do not have to go through passport control. Immigration at MIA is a nightmare from all the stories I have heard and it makes it very difficult to guess what length of connection time you need to leave for MIA. With a incoming flight from SJU, STT, or STX you do not have that problem and can confidently book a short connection.
