Now, of course, elite status requirements vary from airline to airline, but I think the lowest requirement I have seen is 20,000 miles, with most at 25,000 or more. But let's be generous and assume all 36 (or more) airlines require just 20,000 miles, meaning you fly at least 720,000 miles a year - almost 2,000 miles every single day!

KUDOS!!

Or.... Were you just speaking BS??
You are forgetting, or maybe don't know about alliances. I have elite status on AF, KL, KQ, BA, DL, UA and US. But that means I have Star Alliance Gold, Skyteam Elite Plus and Oneworld Emerald. Which makes me elite with dozens of airlines. Another thing you may not be aware of is that you can be comped to elite status. And lastly, you can earn lifetime status on several airlines. So you do not have to fly all those miles to get elite status on many airlines.
