In the old days DC-10's operated routinely out of LGA (I remember taking one LGA-DFW on AA in the late 80's).
More recently, 767'a flew into LGA, but not (with the odd exception) since the early 2000's.
The EA Shuttle frequently ran A-300s and L-1011s too. Since stage lengths are short, less fuel is needed and therefore the 7000' runways are sufficient in most conditions.
