Yes the domes are standard. They’re known as “Park Cars”…….and named after National and Provincial parks across Canada. They are always on the tail-end of the “Canadian” and reserved for sleeping car passengers. Coach class passengers have the use of another dome car….known as a “Skyline”.
During the summer when the trains are long.....VIA also runs additional "Skyline" cars on the Canadian for sleeping car passengers so there should be plenty of dome seats for everyone.
VIA’s Ocean between Montreal and Halifax also has a Park Car but not a Skyline.
