That said, they took off, and they're nearing Anchorage. Latest forecasts I'm seeing have landfall near Taipei as a category 3 about 3 hours after landing...I'll be surprised if they don't divert to NRT.

It's not really "safe" and prudent to have planes just sitting around in 150+ kph winds is it?
