The seller wouldn't get the PNR, the buyer would enter the gift card number and PIN into the AC.com website or call in (I would make sure that I had my laptop and not using his). Also if the buyer did purchase a small ticket with the card (to prove that it is legit) - and did not use the whole $2500 (and if the seller knew the PIN, scratched off silver coating) the seller could still be able to book something without the buyer knowing. Yeah but still fishy....
