Someone offered to sell me an $2500 Air Canada for $1500... Just wondering, what risks are there in this deal?

He said he will meet me at a coffee shop and I can reserve the ticket using his card and pay him after the booking is successful. So what if I book a fully refundable ticket and have Air Canada refund it to a NEW gift card? Would they do that? What are the risks?
