I have stayed at both. I'm not a Shanghai expert but I actually liked the GH's location much better as the metro was very convenient. Whereas at HotB we ended up taking cabs most of the time. That said, I preferred HotB over the GH. We had terrific stays at both but I liked the feel of and the HotB's club lounge much more compared to the GH's. And the view was too die for.
