They now have their own lounge and complimentary drinks for a couple of hours a day. When I last stayed in the Garden Wing a few years back (before they opened the new lounge and whilst the Valley Wing was closed for refurbishment) they offered me free access to the Horizon Club in the main wing without asking.


My point re the other hotels was regarding the large separate club like experience as opposed to, or in addition, to club floors elsewhere in the hotel.

IIRC the Rasa Sayang used to have all day complimentary drinks when the hotel reopened - and the Krungthep Wing used to have complimentary minibars and breakfast as well as drinks in the Wing lounge - but yes, this seems to have changed now.

Although overall it is a superb hotel we were slightly disappointed with the service in the Valley Wing. We had a major service fail when we stayed at the Valley Wing - we came back late one evening to find they had left the door to our room open and ajar after doing the evening turn down service. Luckily nothing was taken and the hotel went overboard in trying to make amends - but it was a serious mistake that could have been a disaster. Our in-room check-in consisted of being taken to our room to find that it was still being made up, so we were checked in whilst the maid was making the bed and vacuuming the room - the hotel wasn't full so why we weren't taken to another room is beyond me. We also noticed a lack of consistency in the main lobby - we noticed a guest (who appeared to be well known to the staff) came in and ordered a burger and fries and munched them in the lobby - so the following day we thought we thought we'd do the same and was told it wasn't allowed. Some guests were allowed to help themselves to the bar (one guest had the Johnny Walker bottle on his table) whilst it was clear that this was not supposed to be the case - there were always plenty of butlers on hand to get you a drink if you needed one.
