I just got off the phone with the United 1K desk. Apparently they are able to see award availability on Air India for *A awards, but the website has not been updated to show availability. There is no ETA yet on when the website will be available.

Anyone have any luck booking award seats on Air India? I was not able to get anything on the dates I wanted. They suggested that I keep calling as awards seats do become available over time. I however would prefer searching on .com than to keep calling.
