Given that I imagine that Swissport bid a fixed priced contract to BA the only option - short of losing money on the deal with a payrise - is for passengers to wait and for Swissport to pay any service level failure penalty.
I do wonder if authorising some paid overtime and paying for taxis home is cheaper than whatever service delivery failure penalty applies to the handling contract?
