My best are Amans that aren't always loved here-Amangalla and Amanwella. We had such amazing service it seemed like we were the only guests. The excursions were incredible and everyday there were new surprises. At the end of the trip I felt like I was saying goodbye to close friends.


My best overall experience was for my wedding at the Anantara Golden Triangle. Every detail of our stay and the day was perfect. The Four Seasons next door may be much, much nicer but I doubt I will ever find out for myself because Anantara will always be special for us.


When I was at the MO Bangkok last summer I actually thought they needed a dress code in Sala Rim Naan! I guess we all have different experiences but the service at that hotel is so warm is doesn't feel stuffy to me at all. The service at the Pen was almost comically stiff and impersonal, and I wouldn't go back, although I did love their pool. I stayed in a base level room at the MO and a much higher category at the Pen, and I still preferred the room at the MO. Next trip I'm trying the Siam, but it will be hard to top the MO for me.
