AA miles win almost every time!

Fact is, with BA or Avios on AA, you face BA fuel charges etc.

With AA miles on AA, you don't.

The cost of the fees etc on BA is so high that I find it difficult even to get value on a 241 - if you value the Avios at 1p each. If you value them at 0.6p then it is even worse.

Yes, there are sweet spots on BA - RFS at last minute or RFS in F to Moscow.

Avios for internal flight in the US are good too.

But AA is better for connecting flights - ie USA-USA-LHR - or USA-LHR-EU.

AA is better for Australia and the Middle East (ex-UK)

But then, in the UK avios are much easier to collect than AA miles (ie Tesco etc).
