The only hassle/inconvenience now is that it will cost a credit hit to get a new CIBC Visa card. I'm not a longtime CIBC cardholder, but if I were, this whole process would have been irritating to deal with. Which is why some existing cardholders chose to switch their CIBC Aerogolds to a different CIBC Visa product, and then back to the Aerogold to avoid the credit score issues. Others accepted a $120 credit in exchange for not canceling, and then cancelled anyway once the card became a TD product, and pocketed the $120, and some got this for multiple ex-CIBC cards, plus along with some bonus Aero miles.

I am not sure what you mean by credit hit. Do you mean that one would be charged for the annual fee(s) for the CIBC card(s), in addition to the TD card (ie if I cancel now, more than 1 month after the transition), I may not get a refund (perhaps proportionate to the benefit year that would be unused) from TD.
Or are you talking about one's actual credit score? If the latter, why one it be impacted (negatively) if going back to a CIBC card?
