08:00BST - Just looked at Flightradar - Airspace over the Ukraine almost empty except for a few Russian planes. Almost every other airline appears to be circumventing Ukrainian airspace. It looks like a merry-go-round.
No doubt this tragic incident will have a knock on affect regarding the airspace over other war torn areas. It will be interesting to see if EK now re-routes its European flight away from Iraq.
