The three times I've received suite upgrades were all as a diamond, but some of the smaller hotels don't even acknowledge enrollment in the loyalty program. In my experience, domestically there's not a huge difference (there was no included breakfast at the last 2 WA's I've stayed at - WA policy?).

However, the lounge access in Singapore and suite upgrade in Bali are worth their weight in platinum cards!
