This Twitter photo of an MH777, purported to be the aircraft lost today, is spurious. Have a look at the nose gear door. The letters shown are "RC", indicating the plane's registration is 9M-MRC. The aircraft shot down was 9M-MRD. Wrong plane. (MH370 was 9M-MRO.)
I hadn't even noticed that. It looks like 9M-MRC flew AMS - KUL on July 11th but it was most recently operating MH 132 (AKL - KUL) on July 16th. Oddly according to FA it hasn't flown since arriving in KUL on the morning of July 16th.
