It's hard to believe that MH would have installed so many additional black boxes on their 777s in the last three months.
I think chances are pretty high they have no idea what a blackbox looks like in the first place. (isn't it yellow, anyway?) - considering they have no concept of what constitutes a threat (a low-flying military plane) and what doesn't (a high-altitude flyover by a civilian aircraft). This is, assuming the rebels are responsible - which is speculation, at present.
