I am thinking of settling down with a hotel brand as well as corresponding credit card. Narrow down to Hilton and Marriott. Really need you guys input to help me.

(1) In terms of points value, Marriott is no double hight than Hilton. However Hilton earn more points as well. And to be honest, the Amex hilton credit card gives more chances to earn points. I probably wont use Marriott credit card for daily expense as there are better options. On the other hand, Surpass 6X for supermarket and gas is not a very bad card.

(2) Status. Hilton give gold status with free breakfast and internet which can save a lot of money meanwhile Marriott only give silver

(3) However, Marriott provides lifetime status which gives me more motivation to pay for a stay at Marriott.

(4) Offers: Marriott seems to have more offers and promotions while Hilton's offers seems less attractive

I need you guy's opinions and input about the quality of Marriott and Hilton
