I phoned UL's toll free US number, which then transferred me to the Canadian number and according to them my flight has the lie flats. However we had some communication problem so I'm not completely convinced.

Upon rechecking the bid website, the minimum bid for my flight starts at $350 USD and goes up to $800. The bid meter indicates $550 as a "good" bid. The difference in cash fare for that one way flight is approximately $250. Fares don't seem to change for the next few months ahead.

So it seems the upgrade is not worth even the minimum bid because I could have technically purchased the upgraded fare for less...however not sure if I could have mixed business and economy fares for my other segments on the same ticket.

pmaclell - did you have a minimum required bid?
