Yeah, but they'll use that excuse for every delay. Plane broke down = extraordinary circumstances. Bad weather = extraordinary circumstances. Any reason for delay = extraordinary circumstances.
Sorry I sound cynical, but I've heard that every time we have a delay that I've applied for compensation for......
