Just got a late notice that I'll be flying to London next week. I am flying the 787 on my way back to IAH.

On my flight TO London I found out that the UA rep mixed up the routes and put me in BF on the way there, not the way back. (I so wanted to try BF on this new plane!) So unless I hear that the Waitlist cleared, I'm flying my 1st 787 in E.

I read on the website that it does have AVOD in E, so that helps, but I have NO idea where I should sit. I will admit to despising light, especially when it ruins my computer screen or the AVOD. Even my Kindle reacts badly to light. I usually sit by the window just so I can control the shade.

I also have a very quick connection in Houston so that is a concern. Returning from CUN in May, I had 2 hours but they didn't have the TSA check open, or even 1st Class or Premier line open and it took 2 hours just to get through security. If my next flight hadn't been delayed I would've spent the night in Houston. (I must say that I normally don't run into that at IAH- it was a weird day.)

I like what I read about this plane on UA's website, but admit to always flying BF when it is available. I'm flying solo so I have no worries regarding seating family or friends, but I am curious. I'm praying that my upgrade goes through on wait list but if not, I need to prepare for a long flight in E. I'd greatly appreciate advice about where to sit to be comfortable and to deplane quickly.

Thanks!
