I've now eliminated Star Alliance. Very difficult to get to work with less than 39,000 miles.
But also there are a number of things which have rubbed me up the wrong way with Star Alliance:
- There is no child discount for Biz class. 2-11yo pays 100%, vs 75% on OW.
- Singapore Airlines think their business class is so special, that you need to pay a surcharge of between US$300 and $600 per person, per flight, over and above the normal cost of the RTW ticket, to go it. Seriously SQ, this is taking the mick. Bbzzzzztttttt!
