Hello,
I booked MAN-DXB-JNB return in F for my wife and infant daughter. I found a fare which stated flex on the ek website showing full 31250 tier miles. I went ahead and booked. After I booked I logged in to her account and the statement page also confirmed future travel showing the full miles.
It turns out it has booked into 'A' class which in the past gave me flex miles. However, on this occasion it is in fact a saver fare. This is confirmed in the fare rules (which I didn't read pre-booking). Now the statement page has adjusted the tier miles to 25k for future travel. It is a deduction of 6150 tier miles, OK, it is not a huge amount of tier miles but this is the exact amount of tier miles she would now be short to achieve gold.
I have:
- I have an email confirmation which was sent when the ticket was issued stating it is a flex fare.
- A screenshot of her statement page showing future travel displaying the full flex miles
Once her last flight on the itinerary is over I shall check but I suspect only saver miles will be credited.
What are the chances of arguing this point post travel with skywards and getting a positive outcome?
