But one does not need nexus to go to the nexus/GE lane; GE gives you access to any GE machines whereby one is entering USA, even involving US preclearance at a Canadian airport. However, you have to convince the airport attendants to let you take that lane.

On a separate matter, I have overheard a few times a conversation between the airport attendants and the GE (no nexus) passenger that they are not allowed to go into the nexus security lane, at T1.
