This business about the automated letter openers having trouble with more than one money order has me puzzled. I'm not necessarily doubting it's true; I just do not see why. If it handles 2 pieces of paper fine (MO and deposit slip), why would adding a 3rd one cause so many problems? I mean it's not like the machine takes the pieces of paper out one at a time, counts them and stops at two. Also if MO #2 can get stuck to the side of the envelope then a single one might get stuck just as easily.

6 does seem a bit excessive though.

Slightly off topic, but I recently tried mailing several MOs in one envelope to one of my brokers for an IRA contrib. They had no problems opening them but they refused to accept them and mailed them back.

I don't have one; I find them too big. An old fashioned flip phone fits nicely in your back pocket and there's not a huge screen to get cracked from sitting on it. ($7/month; that's a plus too.) Most banks that allow mobile deposit have an upload check image capability on their site. It's the ones that don't have it that get me... They spend all the money on developing a mobile app but can't afford to add one little page to their site to do the same thing.
