Exclamation Peninsula Beverly Hills - 24 hour check-in/check-out policy

Unlike most hotels that have a standard check in time of around 3PM and check out time of around 12PM (extended to 4PM for certain guests such as those on the AMEX FHR program), the Peninsula Beverly Hills has a flexible 24 hour check-in/out policy.

This can be both a blessing and a curse. For those who arrive at the property late on the date of check-in, they can leave the property later in the day on the date of check-out (eg. to catch a late evening flight from LA).

However, for those who arrive at the property early in the day, there is a chance that their room/suite might not be available on arrival. This is especially true for those who have booked suite categories where there are a limited number available.

During my recent stay at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, I arrived around 11am on a Sunday morning. While this is a day that is popular for guests to check-out, most of them decided to check-out later in the day. As a result, only 7 rooms were available at the time I arrived. I have booked a California Suite and upon arrival I was given a Deluxe Room as my temporary room until my suite was ready. My guess is that this might have caused another guest who actually booked Deluxe Room to have to wait until I moved to my suite.

Perhaps if I didn't book a suite, I might have had lower priority and be asked to wait in the lobby or to go on with my activities and wait until my room was available?

Here are some videos I have taken of my Deluxe Room and California Suite during my last stay at The Peninsula Beverly Hills.
