If the wife of the OP zhutch had not rented the car with a credit card offering insurance, and if she had not accepted the LDW, would anyone here have recommended that she stop at one of those "$20 windshield fix while you wait" places?

I drive by one every day (he parks his truck next to a gas station), but have never had the need to partake of their services. The one time I had a stone hit my windshield in a rental, it was on the company's account and so was covered.
