I got upgraded to a beautiful one-bedroom suite at that same Phuket Ren. Not a pool villa (darn), but the one-bedroom was really nice. I also got a nice bottle of wine. I'm platinum with Marriott, but also a 1K with UA (MM too) and I have a Chase Visa for UA and Marriott. Much as I like that Ren, we will spend a week at the Phuket Beach Club on that same stretch of beach over the new year.
