Are you sure the cashier swiped the AFT and didn't scan the barcode? If they scan the barcode the system thinks it's a new card and limits it to $500. That could also be why the transaction didn't process...cashier needs to swipe. I make sure I pay attention at the register - can't tell you how many times I've had to correct cashiers on that front.
Thanks for the info. That may be the reason. It's become increasingly frustrating at the targets I go to. The cashiers are so clueless. Most of them give me a blank stare when I hand them the card and say I want to load money.
I tell them to just swipe it and instructions will come up and they just say I don't know, go to,the service desk.
