I tried to to do a load at a Target in So Cal yesterday and my Chase card was declined. Figured it was a fraud alert so I just left. Checked my Chase card and there was no authorization so it seems like it never went through. Maybe there was a glitch yesterday. Also I was trying to load $1k and cashier put it n and it came back and said I can only load $500. I double checked my load dates and I should have been able to load $1k, so not sure what was going on.
Are you sure the cashier swiped the AFT and didn't scan the barcode? If they scan the barcode the system thinks it's a new card and limits it to $500. That could also be why the transaction didn't process...cashier needs to swipe. I make sure I pay attention at the register - can't tell you how many times I've had to correct cashiers on that front.
