Yes, around the time you mention (October/November) a lot of west coast availability suddenly popped up for this summer. It was deemed unusual and so reported here. Obviously it went pretty quickly too!

I was lucky and managed to get a LHR-LAX (A380) in F and SFO-LHR in J on the weekend dates I wanted at the end of August.
