OK...obscure one this isn't it?

If I were to fly BA to Dubai and then on a JAL coded flight (operated by Emirates) on to Tokyo...can I still claim my Avios and TP at the JAL levels even if it's operated on Emirates metal?

Mrs Countrybumpkin has seen cheap tours round Japan, flying with Alitalia if you book flights with the tour operator (dear god NO! Alitalia! Italian's fly worse than they drive!) but there's an option to book your own flights. Trying to combine a potential TP run with a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

That trip in J (plus two quick jaunts to Berlin in Y) would take me from Blue to Silver...if it's allowed!
