It never stops to amaze me how brilliant this and other MS methods really are. As I posted in another thread, for all the shortcomings citi has, there are just as many positives. And this is perhaps my biggest dilemma? How best to thank citi for all the favors without sacrificing the many category bonuses offered by chase, or getting killed by all the AFs for my many citi cards I have open? (which I typically get waivers for) I guess I just feel bad because citi has done so many favors for me over the years in terms of miles and fee credits, and I don't hardly ever "use" my AA card. Whereas chase has hardly done jack for me, but yet I put almost every purchase I can on my CSP and ink because of the catagorry bonuses . Worse yet, given chase track record of AF waivers I am not going to hold my breath for a fee waver from them but yet dont really see myself dumping them because of the category bonuses So unfair.

Any advice, suggestions highly appreciated

And finally for a data point
made a few payments today with no issues

I agree. Citi has been very nice for me in last year. Their customer service on cards with AF has been great. I've had a no AF citi card in the past and the rewards on those weren't great. I had paid them a few hundred dollars in BT fees.
Now I've recouped all the fees by booking 6 Intl biz trips and conrads stays in last year. I'm doing a lot of 1x MS on citi and I'm sure they make money off of that.
Now I make all my real 1x purchases on citi as well and buy GC with a bonus category card to make debit payments. Generally takes me about ~4 minutes.
I do try to remind myself that they are a business and it's nothing personal. They keep me b/c it makes business sense for them. I'm sure there are lots of horror stories and people with bad experiences with citi. My overall impression has been positive. I don't like their website very much though.
