It can sometimes even be cheaper than booking to Paris, and because the TGV is an "Air France flight operated by SNCF", if your inbound flight is late they'll put you on a later TGV at no charge.
Until AF is part of Star Alliance, not much chance I can fly them. It is, however, a very nice perk (being able to include a TGV reservation)!
