Hi all,
I've been travelling extensively for my work for a few years now, but only in the last two has BA been especially beneficial for me (they bought BMI Baby and the BHD-LHR route, which I now use almost weekly).
I'm trying to minimise the costs (for the company) and maximise the benefits (to myself) of all the travel I do, so I'm after some advice from the professionals.
Here's a run-down of my current "scheme" - am I missing any obvious tricks?
- Almost all ET from BHD, connecting through LHR.
- Approx. 5 times per year to TLV, but again, only WT.
- Approx. 1 - 2 times per year long haul in WT+.
- Booked through BA.com using my own BA Amex premium card.
This typically nets me JUST enough Tier points for Gold and more Avios than I need. Ideally, I'd like to secure Gold every year, but travelling only in ET / WT this can be 50/50 some years.
What tools can I use to find better tier point routes, or do I simply need to manually search through BA.com?
Is there a better / cheaper way of booking than BA.com?
Luckily, I can justify travelling BA to my company (if I need to) because the Silver BAEC bonus of an extra piece of luggage is essential - I always have to travel with a toolbox.
Thanks!
