I am confused about why OP's daughter's didn't have AA call her parent for 3 hours, rather than have her mother blame AA for not calling. The 17 year old could have also called the parent and explained the situation.
Perhaps I should have indicated that I was on the phone with her for most of those 3 hours. The employee was not giving her any useful information and refused to speak to me through her phone.
