So actually I'm not wrong on those 3 factors.
Are they longer and/or wider than the Air Canada pods? I'll take your word for it that they are.
I still say pods angled into the cabin are a terrible design, and an extreme angle is even worse, in my opinion. If you guys like them that way,great.....I prefer to have a view out the window than into the cabin. And the tv placement sucks...for exactly the reason I gave.

Just because its a follow-on from what Air NZ did from 2005 or Virgin did doesn't mean its a great design.
No not a nerve, it's not the best business class seat (my pick is Cathay's latest incarnation, which is a variant on the latest of Air Canada's multiple configurations), but they don't angle against the direction of travel. Away from the window is true, and that's a minus, but when most long haul sectors are overnight, it's hardly a big deal. No, the TVs are not in line with the head of the neighbour and angle outwards to be as close or far from the passenger seated as they wish.

NZ has a 3 abreast layout in Business Class on 787s, which is fewer than any other airline so far, which should tell you plenty about length. The other key difference is it has a different surface for sleeping than for seating, it doesn't recline into a bed, it flips over which in my view, is one of the best features. It has a mattress effect, which is a world of difference from a seat with separate components and the compromises involved, for sleeping.

Each to their own of course, some people swear by the BA Club World configuration, others loathe it. Of course, NZ's Premium Economy Spaceseats are also liked or loathed in this forum, so you'll get these strong opinions either way (and few will compliment NZ on its latest economy seating configurations).
