I have been offered a chance to bid on upgrade from economy to business class on my Colombo to Hong Kong flight (one way).

The one flight is broken up into 2 segments:
CMB-BKK 3hr 35min
BKK-HKG 2hr 50min

Both segments will be on the same plane, which looks like Airbus 330-200. Someone upthread mentioned these seats were upgraded around 2012 but has their entertainment system been upgraded? My email says lie flat seats 80 inch pitch and 15 inch HD touchscreen on their NEW business class but also says "many" not "all" A330/A340 have the upgrades. Stopover is 1 hr between segments then 2 hr in Hong Kong so not much chance for lounge time which would come with the upgrade.

Is it worth trying for the upgrade for relatively short segments? Note: I will be flying TPAC in economy for 12 hr on Air Canada after this. They don't confirm bid acceptance/upgrade until 24 hr before departure (in August).
