Delayed flights, ticket booking errors, lost or delayed baggage, being pulled aside for hours by authorities who rightly or wrongly suspect you of breaking a law-- these are standard problems that can happen to anyone. Travel often enough and you'll experience them first hand. The disservice that articles like this do is scaring novice travelers into thinking these bad experiences are likely to happen every time they fly and thus conclude they should stay home.
