The ONLY reason BA are having to make changes to their SH aircraft is to compete with Easyjet/Ryanair etc in the SH arena. Joe Public doesn't care about legroom or on board service, only price.

There will be seasoned travellers on this site who worry about such matters but the fact is 99% of the population do not. It's a great shame and shows the race to the bottom in airlines on SH.

BA can try and offer more for the money but the fact is the market demands changes. IAG has a very competent low cost operator in Vueling who would happily take over BA SH given the chance.

If people were prepared to pay decent money for a SH flight BA would happily remove a few rows and give everyone ample legroom. Sadly the market has proved cost is the only motivator for most.

All IMHO of course...
