Based on various reviews we think we definitely want to stay at Amankila. The question is do we pair with stay at Amandari + Como Shambhala (2 nights at each resort), or choose either Amandari or Como?

I don't feel like there have been many recent reviews of Como on Flyertalk ... how would you choose between it and Amandari?

We like to have activities to do so are drawn to the various excursions and classes Como seems to offer - our friends who went said they enjoyed the walks, white water rafting and yoga ...

Advice much appreciated! Thanks in advance
I have to agree with some others--5-6 nights on Bali and you're considering multiple hotels? We stayed 3 nights at Amanjiwo (which I highly recommend if you can include, our favorite of all the Amans in Indonesia, with Borobodur being the best site of all), 4 nights at Amankila (including an easy day trip to Ubud with lunch at Amandari), and 5 nights at Amanwana (which we shortened due to poor diving conditions to 4 nights and had a last night at Amanusa instead. CSE is without question a worthy rival to Aman on Bali, so I don't think you can go wrong between CSE, Amandari, or Amankila, but I'd still tell you to chill and pick just one--and enjoy it!

If you HAD to move around, the only move I'd say is worth it is to somehow find a way to add Amanjiwo--it's the most spectacular Aman property of them all for us, especially since we absolutely loved Borobodur and thought it among the greatest ancient sites in the world (e.g. Great Wall, Bagan, Angkor, Machu Picchu, Petra, etc.).

You can day trip from ANY of the CSE/Amandari/Amankila properties, as we did from Amankila. Since Amankila was high on your list (and we loved it, too, though we find we love interior more than seaside partly because we live seaside in SoCal), I'd recommend sticking with it for your ENTIRE Bali stay and not worry about changing locales...and just day trip where you like to go. Again, I'd try to include Amanjiwo!
