Tried to make a $200 GC purchase on 7/3. Received errors and a message to call an 800# with a reference number. Didn't have time so figured I'd try later.

Fast forward to yesterday, 2x$200 charges from AA post. Never received any email confirmations or GCs via email. This morning $200 credit posts from Amex for lounge closure. I called AA and they can pull up the charges and also see that no GCs were issued, so they are refunding both. Very strange...
