Asking for information at Qatar airport sound like a no-no

A friend of mine in transit asking about a Fast Track line for immigration and everyone shook their head indicating none existed.

I asked on this forum and told what to look for, then past on the message to him. He following this on his return journey and found the fast track line.

Hopefully folks can post on this forum as to how to find the airside hotel since FT appears to be a better fount of knowledge and the airport staff.
