If you're flying through LHR you can access the Flounge showing your account statement that proves you reached gold.
I tried this last week, the day my TP's posted giving me a balance of 1540. The lady on the Flounge desk was very helpful, but told me I wasn't allowed in until my status showed Gold rather than Silver, despite the number of points. She tried to "override the system", but it still wouldn't allow me in.
Of course, the next day my status changed to Gold!
