One advantage for the American card - no foreign currency transaction fee; the Canadian card still has that fee, if you use it in a foreign market (including USA!).

On a side note, I thought the US card offers essentially the same 200$ travel credit, effectively making the annual fee 250$?

Also, i've never used AMEX Plat Travel Agent, if you have, or heard of anyone using them, are their rates grossly inflated vs say hotel or airline webpages?
