I called US Airways and they still have it in their system and on their website.
They seem hesitant to do anything until they get a schedule change message from SN.
I'm wondering if they'll ever get the message.
Any suggestions? Again this is a return business class on the following routing.
JNB-ADD
ADD-LHR
LHR-BRU
BRU-IAD
all connections
I don't think I can get US to rebook any Star carriers (such as UA) non-stop LHR-IAD but I'm hoping they'll use OneWorld from somewhere such as JNB-LHR-IAD or at least LHR-IAD. However, I'm concerned they won't mix and match Star Alliance and OneWorld. Will this be waived in the event of schedule changes?
I think it's a difficult case because you can't just work with SN to fix it as there is no way they can get you to IAD. Perhaps you can get SN to carry you to some other city and get US to fill in the missing segment to IAD/DCA?
Recently I was impacted by the cancellation of an Air China segment on an upcoming *A booking. Air China were happy to help but insisted US had to make the first move. I was very surprised when on the first call I got US to waitlist me for my desired option and then CA cleared the waitlist! Now Air China are still a US partner so perhaps I was lucky, although I expected my request to WL for the flight to be refused (per the DM T&Cs).
