Right, that's the article I was reading. I just don't get why it's so much easier to step it down to 6900 V instead of 120 or 240. It seems that what you'd save in the transformer you'd lose in having to buy lights and equipment for 6900 V. Lights that work at 6900 V seem like they'd be expensive and rare. Plus, it keeps you from working on them easily.
