They probably just flew in from ORD/IAH/EWR/SFO where the United club offered them saltines and carrot sticks - and then offerred no food on the flight to Canada - and then they entered into Nirvana a.k.a. the Maple Leaf club. What's sad is that UA has set the bar so low that the Maple Leaf club gets ooh's and ahh's from the kids lol. FWIW I have 6 kids and have had the exact same thing happen - and even said roughly the same thing - except it was in an EK club...
