My 28 yo son and his g/f are on award tixs (Air Berlin) MIA-TXL TXL-FCO in October. early morning arrival 7:20 a.m. departure to Rome 8:55. They can probably do carryons (I can take their big bag they day before on my direct flight. - is that a good idea?)

This is their first international travel. I copied a map of Terminal C

recently I saw the flight from MIA arrived at C55 and left for Rome from C40.

Then I read here intl. flights come into a different terminal. Can someone explain the TXL process for Air Berlin? So they will clear immigration, and have to change terminals?? is there a shuttle? or walk?

Thanks...nervous mom.
